My Love Affair with Mountains; Mt. Batulao

My soul is inextricably intertwined  with nature. How I miss the relaxing smell of trees and  the soothing sound of a rushing creek. I yearn to dance with the wind while I extend my hands drowning with its glory. I’m dying to see how clouds fashionably change its forms and how the shadows play with the vast, grassy land. How I long to embrace the rays of the mighty sun and feel its heat towards my pale arms. I would trade a sumptuous meal just to have a cold, sweet taste of a spring water. My love, just the thought of these simple pleasures you bring makes me tremble with excitement.

And yes, I wouldn’t care getting scratches from conquering a giant rock. I dare to feel the nasty pain from being bitten by ants. I would take the risk of multiple falling just to surmount your splendid mountains.  I wouldn’t mind being burned by the sun just to witness your spectacular beauty. When will I be reunited with you? How I wish to have longer days, longer days to spend with you.

And if someday I’ll be given the chance to meet that someone who shares the same passion as me, I will never let him go. 🙂

  1. I know the feeling very well. However, this scenery is much more beautiful than anything I have seen in my small travels! I hope to travel to places like this someday and witness the same beauty for myself…but just from the pictures I can see why you want to return so badly!

Don’t forget, wherever you are is beautiful, too, if you just take the time to really, really look around. It may not be endless green hills like these, but maybe you can find a touch of natural beauty somewhere in your everyday life you didn’t notice before!

    • You are certainly right, these endless green hills and amazing clouds would be nothing if it was seen by someone who doesn’t have the heart to appreciate it. We might have limited travels and limited places to visit, it’s still the passion that matters. I read your blogs and I know you’re as passionate as me. We are somehow similar in some ways. Continue exploring, goodluck in your future journey.

  2. Thank you, Jona, for visiting Gwichyaa Zhee. It is always gratifying to meet young people who love nature and love God. Best wishes!

  3. Beautiful! I’d love to visit there! And I really know how you feel about nature. Thanks for visitting my blog!

  4. I am spending a week in Tennessee and have gone hiking the past two days, struggling with my disinterest in hiking. It seems illogical that I feel this way because I love nature, walking and exercise. Your words have challenged me to immerse myself in the experience rather than just to fearfully watch where my next step is going (I am 68 years old). An evocative writing which motivates me to give hiking some more chances. Thank you.

  5. Wow.that’s really great to hear from someone who loves nature as well. Your words just encouraged me as much as I did encourage you with my writing and posts. Just keep hiking as long as you still can, it keeps us young and vibrant 🙂 Take care. God bless

    Jona
